Trinity

Good morning all.

Only 1 week left till the kids go back to school on the 5th September and soon after that, on the 10th, Ben leaves home to go to University. Feeling really, really sad which isn't helped by my gran being in hospital. She had a brain scan yesterday but luckily they found nothing and my mum said she was back to her usual self. We are just taking a day at the time but I won't be able to go home just yet.

Been keeping myself busy - oh yes, the house is sparkling so please wear sunglasses hehe, been doing a lot of colouring (digging out old stamps that have not seen day-light for months) and watching the IAAF Championship from Daegu, I LOVE athletics and what an exciting championship this is, can't wait till next years Olympics.

Anyho, my little show for today is this sweet image from the super-duper, oh-so talented Mo Manning. Isn't she cute and except for the glasses this could be Phoebe in a weeks time. She's been coloured with promarkers.

MATERIALS USED

Tiny Tia

Good morning all.

Hope everyone in the UK are enjoying their bank holiday eventhough the weather is a little damp.

I have been doing a lot of crafting as I find it the best way to take my mind of things and not think to much about my gran. She's definately getting worse and it's gone real fast. She called me on the 5th and seemed ok and in good spirit and now she's in hospital and she won't be able to go home as she can't take care of herself anymore. She's needing transfusions and she's hallucinating a lot, seeing ants and wasps in the hospital ward. It's hard when you are so far away and unable to do anything. I have always been really close to her and I am finding this very hard to deal with. Anyhow.......

This is one of the cards I have made.

I love paper piecing and this little lady is a real sweetie. She's one of many gorgeous images found at Some Odd Girl and I love their HUGE eyes :). Coloured with Promarkers (as usual hehe) and I wanted a simple look for this. I made tiny holes around the edge using a sewing gadget - paper piercing lol.

Arzalea

Good evening all.

Well, Ben and Charlotte are finally dresses to go out on the town this evening. Think they are making a lot of time with their school friends before they are all scattered alll over the UK. Was I really that difficult at 18 when getting ready to go out - must have been lol. Just came online to post this card I made yesterday.

This one is for the ATS CHALLENGE "Earth tones". I hope I have managed to fulfill the brief, used lots of browns and moss greens and this sweet little Twisted Sister by Amy Young. If I am honest I rather like the way this turned out.

MATERIALS USED

Papers: Cosmo Cricket and Bo Bunny (trees)

Thank you for taking a rest on my cloud and enjoy your evening. Hugs, Mette

Chubby Chum

Good morning all.

Just popping on real quick to post this card as promised. It is a just bacuse card and be posted to my gran later today. Both she and I need cheering up as the news from her CT scan is not good at all. It is, as we all suspected, cancer. However, at her age, 89, neither the family not the doctors feel we want an operation, nor kemo so we will just take each day as it comes. They fear that it may have spread to other parts too but she doesn't know that.

Anyhow, my Paper Smooches stamp set arrived yesterday, it is available in the UK HERE and I am totally in love with these. They are just super fabulous :).

I used white, black and kraft cardstock, a lovely piece of ribbon and foam pads together with Chubby Chum stamp set.

Thank you for visiting my cloud and hope you have a super day. Hugs, Mette

Anyway, please visit Paper Smooches blog to view their Sneak Peak of their latest release and I'll be back again tomorrow with a card (or possibly 2).

New Things

Hey all.

Oh boy been busy. Went on a "spur-of-the-moment" trip to Derby with Ben and his girlfriend Charlotte and Phoebe. Spent far too much money lol mainly because I visited my local craft shop there Kaz & Co. A few new stamps, some fabulous hemp string in gorgeous colours (definately need the other colours too), buttons, 2 Bo Bunny pads and some white embossing powder. Didn't get any glue-dot-cushion-thingies and she didn't have any kraft paper. But I did found out that I would be able to buy Lawn Fawn from her - totally wicked.
Phoebe has some new toys, a trip to Lush - ah, the smell...... divine. Ben and Charlotte got some new clothes and we had a lovely lunch in the food corner, they serve food from all over the world. If you are wondering where James was - at home chilling like the last 3 weeks lol.

I am suffering this evening though and my heel is so painful I can hardly walk. Been like this for a few months - painful if I walk or stand for a long time and painful when I have rested it. And before you ask - I am going to the doctor on Friday as it's not right.

So - this is my little card for today. Made this mainly cos I love this sweet image which is free from A DAY FOR DAISIES CHALLENGES. Tammy is such a wonderful kind person she offers a freebie to play along with her challenges. They asked that you use twine so I wrapped a little around one of my last little pieces of kraft. Isn't this little girl adorable?

Lil Haunt - Ghost Willow

Good morning all.

Hope you all enjoyed your week-end. Mine was rather busy and eventful.

It's hard living far from your family especially when you get bad news. My gran, who is now 89, has been unwell for a while and was admitted to hospital a week ago. The doctors were amaze she was still going as her blood-count was very low so it was no wonder she fainted. Not enough oxygen being transported around. However, they also discovered a growth and she is having a scan this coming week. I know she's 89 but I was always very close to her. Not being able to be there for her when she needs me is hard.

On a better note my Ben passed all his exams - 4 Bs. I am so proud of him and he's going to study his choosen subject at University. The bad part is I only have 3 weeks before he goes :(. My first one to leave and I am already feeling sad.

Been busy all week-end moving furniture around and getting bedrooms sorted. Still not finished but it keeps me out of mischief lol.

Managed to make this card for TICKLED PINK CHALLENGE. Anything goes is always a nice and easy theme and we are seeing more and more halloween items so I went with one of my favorite images Ghost Willow. She has been coloured with Promarkers.

MATERIALS USED

Ghost Willow - Tickled Pink digi
Pink Paislie "Hocus Pocus" from Quixotic
Ribbon
Bat stamp

You're Unique

Good afternoon all.

Boy I ache all over tonight. Been clearing out James' bedroom and then painted and scrubbed to get it ready for Phoebe. Still got a few things to get to make it girly, need to paint another shelf pink and then get everything hung up - including a lovely pink daisy flower wall lamp from Ikea. Well, I am totally useless with a drill - I can manage certain DIY jobs but that I can't do. So I am gonna have to wait for my ex to be able to come and do a little drilling (that sounds so wrong lol and I do mean the walls). I am sure it'll look nice once done.
At the moment she's on my floor screaming and having one of her temper-tantrum cos I only gave her 1 sheet of my nice cardstock.

Anyho, been making a few inchie cards for the challenge at TIDDLY INK. I totally loved making these - small cards are so gratifying. I am gonna make a lot more of these as they are so useful for so many things. These I will save for when my daughter has an occasion to say thank you.

A card for Ryan

Good afternoon all.

I have said it before and I am saying it again - the crafting world is full of wonderful caring and generous people who will do anything to help or brighten someone's day. So this is the story

Meredith is a member of the Tiddly Ink DT team and has kindly asked for help in brightening a young man's life after an accident. Details of his courage, compassion and caring nature together with the subsequent accident can be found HERE.

Please go and read about Ryan and then it will only take a few moments of your life to make a card for him and send it to him. Ryan's story touched me and I hope that he will make a speedy recovery and go on to do more great things with his life.
In view of the recent riots here in the UK I think we need more people like Ryan in the world :).

I made this card for Ryan this morning and I posted it earlier to the address on Meredith's blog. I hope that it will make him smile and that the nurses where he is are smiling too (unlike this sour-faced nurse from Bugaboo hehe). I am sending him all my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Thank you for dropping in on my cloud and enjoy your day. Hugs, Mette

Teacher

Good afternoon all.

Well, it's been a week since I last posted anything here and also a week since I made something I wanted to post. My mojo has decided to take an extended trip, not exactly sure where it is atm but last I heard it was seen somewhere over the South Pole. Have tried to make something over the last week but most has ended in the recycling bin :(. I am not too sure about this either but I usually take part in the Tiddly Ink challenge and didn't wanna miss it.

Not entirely sure what's going on but it may have something to do with being very busy moving all the bedrooms around, painting, decorating etc and I think my cardmaking style is changing a little which may cause confusion lol. However, if you do spot my mojo somewhere please label it Derbyshire, UK and send it home - I do miss it :).

As I mentioned this is a card for Tiddly Ink Challenge "For my teacher" and although Phoebe isn't going back for another 2 1/2 week this will be coming in handy :).

You're so thoughtful

Good morning all.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I just popped on to show a card which I made for an inspiration challenge at

There are so many possibilities for playing colours, textures and embellishments but I kept mine clean and simple just using a few elements. If you want to play along just hop over to Papersmooches blog and have a go. It doesn't matter if you don't have any stamps as there a some lovely free digi images.
I am also entering this card into the Clean and Simple challenge as I used their sketch. Hope you like it

Ilyse

Good morning all.

Well, it's looking a little overcast this morning but I hope it isn't going to rain. Not got much planned today, Ben will be at work (he's got a job in a local pub until he goes to Uni) so Phoebe, James and I will just be having a lazy day. Mind you, I got lots to do so I won't be sitting around admiring the wall-paper lol. Have a huge pile to iron (hot job when it's muggy) and there is always something to do. Hopefully will be able to do a little crafting too.

I have been a fan of Amy's for a long time, not only does she create the most adorable cards but she also designs her own images and they are simply gorgeous. You can find her blog HERE. I have used one of Amy's princesses Ilyse for this week's challenge at ATS. Anything goes is always a nice and easy challenge :).

Love you Berry Much

Good morning all.

I am not sure whether it's my advancing age or the humid weather but lately I am having trouble sleeping. I wake up several times in the night and am up early and I don't even go that early to bed. I am hoping it's just the humidity as I normally sleep like a log. However, as I am a year older today it could also be my advancing old age lol.
This might be the reason for my low energy and my mojo being on a rollercoaster ride - high and low, high and low. I made 4 attempts for a card for the LESS IS MORE challenge this week which all ended up in the "not suitable for human eyes" basket before finally settling on this...............

........ hip hip hurray for the World Wide Web. Finding Emily's wonderful blog I found PaperSmooches stamps and love them. Just wish that they were available in the UK but luckily she does offer a few digital images and that led me to make this little card to enter into the LESS IS MORE Challenge. Paper Smooches are also looking for a Guest Designer for the month of September so I thought I might enter using this card. They so have seriously cute stamps :).

Garden Mae

Good morning all.

Well, the rain has finally arrived and the air has cooled - a little. I am definately hoping that the nights are gonna be cooler - I have had trouble sleeping and feeling the effect with low energy level :(.

I am soon going to have some work done to my bathroom - it's needs to be re-tiled and it looks like I need a new bathtub (there is a tiny crack which is not good). This will however mean that we will be unable to have a shower for a few days (I am so gonna HATE that lol) but it needs to be done to minimize water damage to the house.

I made this little card for a friend who has helped me a bit since I lost my car and I thought that I wanted to use a happy image. There are some gorgeous images over at Some Odd Girl and they are available in both rubber and digi. So will be entering this into SOME ODD GIRL CHALLENGE. Fairly simple lay-out but love those colours together :).

MATERIALS USED

Some Odd Girl available at Quixotic in rubber and Some Odd Girl in digital

Kraftin' Kimmie 89

Good morning all.

Well, Phoebe is starting to miss her friends I think cos I am having to play all these weird made-up games her imagination comes up with and believe me they are strange. She has been watching some of the early Harry Potter movies lately and we are playing strange wizard games lol. Ah - wish I was 20 years younger.

Another nice day here - sun, a few white clouds and warm weather. Wonder where the rain is that they promised. Have booked a coach trip to the Zoo at the end of the month so looking forward to that. Don't think Phoebe has been to the Zoo yet. Actually we are all looking forward to it incl my sons :)

This little card is for KRAFTIN' KIMMIE CHALLENGE and they don't want to see any embellishment on the card. So away goes the ribbons, flowers, buttons etc and just letting the image do the talking. I hope that my sentiment is not considered embellishment otherwise I am in trouble lol.

MATERIALS USED

Paper: K & Co (old pad)

Cas-ual Friday 13

Good morning all.

Well, it's still muggy and I am really hoping it will rain today. I have to paint Phoebe's bedroom and I'd rather do that when it's cold and wet outside. Otherwise don't have much planned for today apart from the usual housekeeping and hopefully being able to squeeze a little crafting in too.

CAS has always freightend me and something I have stayed well clear of but lately I am finding that I love the look. It still freightens me but at least I am embrassing it. This week's challenge at CAS-UAL FRIDAY is "The long and short of it" (not to be tempted to fill all the white space). So I thought I would use one of my very neglected stamp sets which I got last I went to Denmark. It's from Panduro and the ladies dress is paper pieced. Hope it's suitable for this challenge and believe me - it was a challenge lol.

Thank you for dropping by and enjoy your day. Hugs, Mette

Football

Good morning all.

Looks like we are going to have another muggy warm day. I am beginning to feel that we need a little rain and wind to freshen the air up. Sometimes I wish I lived by the coast (I grew up by the sea and really miss it).

Week 2 of the kids holiday and as we had a very lazy week-end we are going to have to get busy with moving bedrooms around. Will also need a trip into town as food disappear fast than I can buy it (2 teenage boys in the house - both always STARVING lol).

So, this card is for one of Phoebe's friends who has a birthday soon. The ladies at CARDS FOR MEN would like to see Clean & Simple projects and I really hope mine qualifies. I must confess that I am currently loving clean and simple, maybe as they are easier to post lol.
